After months of swirling rumors and tantalizing leaks, Bethesda is poised to officially unveil the much-anticipated remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion tomorrow. The announcement is scheduled for 11:00 am EST and will be live-streamed on both YouTube and Twitch.
The official Bethesda Twitter/X account hinted at the reveal with a post featuring a prominent "IV" and a background reminiscent of iconic Oblivion artwork, leaving little doubt about the nature of the announcement.
Speculation about an Oblivion remake has been rife for years, fueled initially by a leaked Bethesda release schedule from 2020, disclosed during the FTC vs. Microsoft trial in 2023. Although the document suggested a remaster for fiscal year 2022, the timeline had passed, casting doubt on its validity. However, recent leaks, including one in January this year, indicated that Bethesda, in collaboration with Virtuos, was indeed working on a full-scale remake. The rumors gained further credibility last week when images from the remake surfaced on Virtuos' website.
Should these leaks hold true, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered is expected to launch on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms. A Deluxe Edition, featuring the infamous horse armor, will also be available alongside the standard version.
