Microsoft has recently announced a significant price increase for Xbox consoles, controllers, and upcoming first-party games. The new prices for hardware are effective immediately, while the $79.99 price tag for new first-party games will take effect this holiday season. If you're considering purchasing an Xbox Series X|S or a new controller, now is the time to act, as the higher prices are already reflected on Xbox's official store. However, you might still find the original prices at select retailers, though this won't last long.
Current Price: $499.99 at Amazon (Save 17% off $599.99)
Xbox Series X 1TB Digital Edition - $449 (Going Up to $549 Soon)
The Xbox Series X stands as the flagship model, boasting the power to run games at 4K resolution. As a proud owner, I find it even more satisfying than my PS5, particularly because it supports physical games. For those comfortable with a fully digital library, the digital edition offers a $50 saving.
Current Price: $273.99 at Amazon (Save 28% off $379.99)
Xbox Series S 1TB - $349 (Going Up to $429 Soon)
The Xbox Series S is ideal for gamers who are ready to go all-digital. However, it's worth noting that it runs games at a 1440p resolution rather than 4K. If that suits your needs, it's a fantastic choice. Given the increasing size of modern games, I recommend opting for the 1TB model to avoid frequent storage issues.
Out August 13
Current Price: $60.96 at Amazon (Save 24% off $79.99)
Some Xbox controllers are also facing price increases, though not all models are affected equally. The pricing of controllers has been more dynamic compared to consoles, so the price changes might be less noticeable. Here are the upcoming price adjustments for Xbox controllers:
Act swiftly to take advantage of current prices before these changes take effect.
