Netflix and Gameloft have just released an exciting new update for the Carmen Sandiego game, where the iconic thief is now embarking on a mission in Japan during the enchanting Cherry Blossom Festival. But don't be fooled, Carmen isn't there for a leisurely stroll among the Sakura; she's on a high-stakes mission.
During the Free FestiVILE event, running from April 7th to May 4th, players will join Carmen in her quest to recover the stolen sacred Shinboku tree. The mission involves tracking down the culprits, unraveling clues, and racing against time to solve the mystery. All this while immersing yourself in Japan's stunning landscapes, from the serene Tokyo shrines to the breathtaking cherry blossoms. As a special touch, you can unlock a traditional happi coat for Carmen, adding a unique flair to her usual red trenchcoat.

It's a special year for Carmen Sandiego fans as it marks the 40th anniversary of the series. Nostalgia hits hard with the return of the original Rockapella theme song, which is now featured in the Standard Edition and the Deluxe Edition's soundtrack. Fans of the Netflix animated reboot will also spot familiar elements in the game, including high-stakes missions, clever capers, and Carmen's efforts to protect cultural treasures by stealing from the crooks.
If you have a Netflix subscription and haven't tried the game yet, now's the perfect time to download it from the Google Play Store. Remember, the cherry blossoms and this thrilling caper won't last forever!
