Clair Obscur is a turn-based RPG developed by French studio Sandfall Interactive that blends real-time actions into combat. Set in a dark fantasy world, each year a powerful entity known as the Paintress awakens and paints a number on her monolith—causing everyone of that age to vanish. As the story begins, the Paintress is about to awaken and inscribe the number 33. You lead Expedition 33, a team of 33-year-olds determined to defeat the Paintress.
Combat is a highlight of the game. While turn-based, it allows you to dodge, parry, and counter enemy assaults. You can execute combo chains by timing your button presses and use a free-aim system to target enemy weak spots. It’s an engaging system worth exploring.
