A Clueless Sequel Series Is Reportedly Happening — And Alicia Silverstone Is Returning

As if they could resist putting Alicia Silverstone back in the yellow and plaid. The iconic actress is reportedly set to reprise her starring role as Cher Horowitz in a highly anticipated Clueless sequel series for Peacock.

The series, currently in development with the streamer, promises to be a thrilling continuation of the beloved story from the original 1995 film. While plot details are being closely guarded, fans can rest assured knowing that Silverstone will be at the helm once again. This new project marks a fresh attempt at a Clueless spin-off, distinct from the one Peacock had planned back in 2020.

The creative team behind this exciting revival includes Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, renowned for their work on the original Gossip Girl series and its reboot. They will be joined by Jordan Weiss to write the series, and together, they will also executive produce alongside Amy Heckerling, the visionary writer-director of the original Clueless film, and Robert Lawrence, the film's original producer. CBS Studios and Universal Television are set to co-produce this eagerly awaited series.

This isn't the first time Clueless has made the leap to the small screen. Following the film's success, a television adaptation aired on ABC and UPN from 1996 to 1999, with Rachel Blanchard stepping into the role of Cher Horowitz.
