The mobile and PC game DanMachi Battle Chronicle, also known as Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Battle Chronicle, has announced its End of Service (EOS). Aiming, the developer and publisher of this 3D action RPG, officially confirmed the shutdown today.
When Will DanMachi Battle Chronicle Shut Down?
The servers will be taken offline on September 29th, 2025. Following this date, the game will no longer be accessible for download via the Google Play Store, App Store, or on PC (Windows version). Customer support services for all platforms will also cease on the same day.
All sales of the premium currency, Paid Selas, will be discontinued after the maintenance on July 30th. However, players will be able to utilize any remaining in-game currency until the service ends. Refund requests for unused Paid Selas will be accepted from September 29th until December 28th.
The official DanChro Discord server will be closed on July 31st. The in-game mission "Join the Community," accessible from the Option screen, will also be removed in late July. Additionally, any remaining tokens from the Training Camp event will expire once the final event concludes.
An offline version is currently in development for Android and iOS devices. Please note that this version will be exclusive to the Japanese release and will have a limited set of features. Japanese players will have the opportunity to transfer a portion of their game data to this offline version before the online service ends.
One Final Event is Coming
Originally announced in July 2023 and launched that August, DanMachi Battle Chronicle will celebrate its second anniversary just before its service concludes.
The 2nd Anniversary event begins on July 30th. It will introduce a special event story based on an original concept. This final event will not include any quests or leaderboard rankings.
A unique, limited-edition Scene Card, created exclusively for this event, will be distributed to players as part of the final content update. A promotional video for the anniversary celebration is scheduled for release on July 21st.
This follows the closure of another title in the series, DanMachi Memoria Freese, which operated for seven years before shutting down in February 2024. It appears the operational lifespan for gacha-style RPGs is gradually shortening.
You can still experience the game before it's gone by downloading it from the Google Play Store.
