This week, Dell has launched a compelling deal on its Tower Plus gaming desktop, now available for just $1,649.99 with free shipping. This system comes equipped with the powerful NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super GPU, making it an excellent choice for gamers aiming to enjoy smooth performance at resolutions up to 4K. Compared to similarly equipped systems featuring the newer RTX 5070 Ti, this configuration offers significant savings—hundreds of dollars less than entry-level prebuilt alternatives that start above $2,000.
Price: $1,649.99 at Dell
The Dell Tower Plus is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 265 processor, offering a maximum turbo frequency of 5.3GHz across 20 cores and 36MB of cache memory. The system also includes 16GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, a 1TB M.2 SSD, and the high-performance GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super GPU. Gamers who want enhanced thermal management can upgrade to the Ultra 7 265K model for an additional $100, which includes advanced air cooling with a more robust heatsink and fan assembly.
For most gaming scenarios, especially at higher resolutions like 1440p and 4K, the GPU tends to be the limiting factor rather than the CPU. As such, skipping the more expensive i9 upgrade ensures better value without sacrificing performance. The entire system is supported by a reliable 750W 80PLUS Platinum power supply, ensuring stable operation under load.
The RTX 4070 Ti Super is a versatile graphics card capable of delivering over 144fps in many titles at 1080p and 1440p resolutions, making it ideal for high-refresh-rate displays. Even at ultra-demanding 4K resolution, players can expect consistent frame rates around 60fps in most modern games. While the newer Blackwell-series RTX 5070 Ti offers slight improvements, the RTX 4070 Ti Super remains only about 10–15% behind while offering identical VRAM capacity (16GB) using GDDR6 memory.
When compared to prebuilt systems featuring the newer RTX 5070 Ti GPU, the Dell Tower Plus represents exceptional value. Despite minor performance gains from the RTX 5070 Ti, entry-level systems equipped with this card start at over $2,000, often costing $500 or more than Dell’s current offer. For many gamers, the extra cost doesn't justify the marginal improvement, especially when considering the overall balance of components in the Dell system.
