Destiny 2 Update 8.0.0.5 addresses community concerns and improves gameplay. Recent updates like Into the Light and The Final Shape have boosted Destiny 2's popularity, but some issues persisted. This patch tackles several key problems.

A significant change affects the Pathfinder system, replacing daily and weekly bounties. Community feedback highlighted problems with mixed nodes and the need for activity switching, negating streak bonuses. Update 8.0.0.5 adjusts the system, replacing Gambit-specific nodes with more versatile options allowing completion through PvE or PvP activities.

Another major fix removes elemental surges from Dungeons and Raids. Post-Final Shape, these surges negatively impacted difficulty and player experience. Data analysis confirmed their removal, replacing them with a universal damage bonus for all subclasses.

A popular exploit in the Dual Destiny exotic mission, allowing double class item acquisition, has also been patched. Players can no longer exploit this to gain additional rewards.
