Hideo Kojima unveiled an exciting new trailer for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach at SXSW 2025 in Austin, TX, alongside announcing the game's release date. Death Stranding 2 is set to launch on June 26, 2025, exclusively for PlayStation 5. Fans eager to dive in early can get two days of early access starting June 24 by purchasing the Digital Deluxe Edition or the Collector's Edition.

The captivating 10-minute trailer showcases a mix of cinematics and gameplay, drawing significant attention to a character named Neil, portrayed by Italian actor Luca Marinelli. Neil's appearance and actions, including donning a bandana reminiscent of Snake from the Metal Gear series, have sparked discussions among fans. This character leads a squad of eerie soldiers and wields an assault rifle, adding depth to the game's narrative.

PlayThe trailer also introduces the Magellan Man, a colossal tar-like creature reminiscent of *Metal Gear Rex*. This behemoth, included as a 15" statue in the Collector's Edition, operates like a mech from *Pacific Rim* and battles against menacing tar monsters, further enriching the game's visual and thematic experience.

Luca Marinelli plays Neil, who has some serious Snake vibes.

The Magellan Man rekindles memories of Metal Gear Rex.

Pricing details include the standard edition at $69.99, the Collector's Edition at $229.99, and the Digital Deluxe Edition at $79.99. Pre-orders for the game will commence on March 17.

Death Stranding 2 continues the narrative from the 2019 original, with the tagline, 'Should We Have Connected?' The official description reads:

Embark on an inspiring mission of human connection beyond the UCA. Sam — with companions by his side — sets out on a new journey to save humanity from extinction. Join them as they traverse a world beset by otherworldly enemies, obstacles, and a haunting question: should we have connected? Step by step, legendary game creator Hideo Kojima changes the world once again.
