Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Brings Back and Enhances Features
Peep Demo Theater Makes a Comeback
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater (MGS Delta) has earned an M for Mature rating from the ESRB, signaling a faithful recreation of the original game, including the return of a provocative feature. The ESRB summary highlights the reappearance of the Peep Demo Theater in this remake.
The Peep Demo Theater, previously featured in the Subsistence and HD Collection editions of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, allows players to view all cutscenes featuring the female spy EVA in her underwear. Players can freely adjust the camera, zooming in on any part of her body. Unlocking this mode requires collecting all other cutscenes in the Demo Theater, which demands four full playthroughs of the game.
The Mature rating aligns with the game’s premise, where players control an elite soldier navigating enemy territory, encountering frequent violence and gore. However, the return of the Peep Demo Theater, often dubbed “Creepy mode,” has surprised fans due to its explicit and controversial content, which many thought might be excluded from the remake.
Streamlined Camouflage Switching
MGS Delta introduces a faster camouflage-switching system, enhancing gameplay flow. A March 28 post on Twitter (X) by METAL GEAR OFFICIAL showcased a video demonstrating this improved mechanic. The post stated, “Switch camouflage for faces, uniforms, and more instantly with this new feature in METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER.”
The footage revealed that players can change camouflage in under three seconds, a significant improvement over the original game’s cumbersome process. In Metal Gear Solid 3, swapping camo required pausing the game, navigating menus, accessing the Camo section, and selecting an option, which disrupted the game’s pacing, particularly during stealth segments.
As the release of MGS Delta approaches, excitement builds for a remake that blends nostalgic features with modern quality-of-life upgrades. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is slated for release on August 26, 2025, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
