Fantastic Four Teaser Unveils Retro Setting, Trailer Date

Marvel Studios has unveiled a teaser trailer for their upcoming film, The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The brief clip, titled "PREPARE 4️⃣ LAUNCH," showcases children excitedly gathered before a shop window displaying vintage television sets. The screens depict a rocket launch, the Fantastic Four donning space suits, and the "Prepare 4 Launch" message. The 1960s retro-futuristic setting is clearly established through the TVs and overall aesthetic. Two additional screens are partially obscured.

The full trailer will debut at 7 AM ET (4 AM PT) on February 4th.

Set for release on July 25th, 2025, the film stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing. Ralph Ineson portrays Galactus, and Julia Garner is Silver Surfer. Supporting roles include Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles. Matt Shakman directs, with Kevin Feige producing.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they confront their most formidable challenge yet. Balancing their heroic duties with their family bonds, they must defend Earth from the voracious space god Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his mysterious Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). The stakes become intensely personal when Galactus's planet-devouring scheme threatens everyone.

At New York Comic Con (NYCC) in October, attendees saw artwork featuring several key MCU figures, including a first look at the live-action H.E.R.B.I.E. (Humanoid Experimental Robot B-Type Integrated Electronics).

Speculation abounds regarding Robert Downey Jr.'s potential return as Doctor Doom, either in The Fantastic Four: First Steps or through a teaser. Feige has confirmed the Fantastic Four's appearances in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
