"Feral Interactive Releases Imperium Update for ROME: Total War"

Exciting news for fans of the classic strategy game, ROME: Total War! Feral Interactive has just released the Imperium Update for the Android version, introducing a host of gameplay enhancements, control refinements, and quality-of-life improvements. If you've been enjoying this timeless game on your Android device since its launch in 2018, you're in for a treat with these new features. The update will also be rolled out to the standalone expansions, Barbarian Invasion and Alexander, next week.

What Does the Imperium Update Bring to ROME: Total War?

The Imperium Update integrates some of the most beloved features from Feral Interactive's newer mobile titles, such as Total War: MEDIEVAL II and EMPIRE. Players can now enjoy three innovative control options: Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection. These new modes enhance your ability to command units with precision, making battles more strategic and engaging. A simple tap and hold now allows you to move your army, agents, or fleets, eliminating the need for manual path dragging.

Positioning Mode enables you to fine-tune the placement of your units with ease, while the Group Grid feature simplifies the management of unit groups through a collapsible selection menu. Melee Mode is a game-changer, allowing ranged units to switch to close combat when the situation calls for it.

One of the standout features of the update is the Command Slowdown, which automatically slows down the game when you're issuing complex orders, ensuring you have the time to make strategic decisions. Additionally, for the first time, ROME: Total War on Android (and iPad) now supports keyboard and mouse, enhancing the overall gaming experience.

The minimap has also received a significant upgrade, drawing inspiration from MEDIEVAL II. It now offers smoother zooming and navigation, along with a handy reset button that quickly reverts to the default view.

The Imperium Update is now available for download on the Google Play Store for all ROME: Total War players on Android. Keep an eye out for the updates to Barbarian Invasion and Alexander, which will follow next week.
