It's the season of live streams, with many top releases teasing major updates through video showcases. Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is joining the trend with its Spring 2025 Update livestream scheduled for April 24th. While this livestream will primarily recap an existing Japanese-only broadcast, it promises to shed more light on the highly anticipated Ever Crisis Academy Event.
The Ever Crisis Academy Event, launching on April 29th, offers a unique twist by reimagining the iconic Final Fantasy VII characters as Japanese high school students in a rom-com visual novel setting. Expect to see Cloud portrayed as a delinquent and Barrett's arm-cannon transformed into a giant fan, among other amusing character adaptations.
With Final Fantasy VII's popularity surging, thanks to the ongoing remake series by Square Enix, the Ever Crisis Academy Event adds a fresh, albeit quirky, perspective to the beloved franchise. While some Western fans might find the visual novel format unusual, it's an entertaining way to experience these fan-favorite characters in a new light.
