The long-awaited Football Manager 2025 has been cancelled across all platforms, including its anticipated mobile release. Sports Interactive, the developer, announced the cancellation, citing the inability to meet their high standards for technical quality. This decision comes after several release date postponements, leaving fans disappointed.
The cancellation is particularly disheartening given the previously announced Netflix Games mobile release, which would have introduced the franchise to a wider audience. This partnership is now uncertain.
The late-stage cancellation, originally slated for a March release, is frustrating for many fans, especially considering the lack of planned updates to Football Manager 24 as a stopgap. However, the decision to prioritize quality over a rushed, subpar release is commendable, even if the communication could have been improved.
The focus now shifts to Football Manager 26. Fans hope this future installment will fulfill the promise of the cancelled game and potentially return to the Netflix Games platform. In the interim, explore our weekly roundup of the top five new mobile games to keep your gaming fix satisfied.
