Fortnite's Latest Update: A Blast from the Past and Festive Cheer!

Fortnite's newest update delivers a nostalgic treat for players, bringing back beloved items like the Hunting Rifle and Launch Pad. This follows a recent hotfix for the OG mode, reintroducing the classic Cluster Clinger. Simultaneously, the annual Winterfest event is in full swing, complete with festive quests, new items such as Icy Feet and the Blizzard Grenade, and exciting skins featuring Mariah Carey and others.

The Winterfest celebration blankets the island in snow, offering players a wealth of rewards from the Cozy Cabin and premium skins. Beyond the holiday festivities, Fortnite continues its streak of collaborations, this time with Cyberpunk 2077 and Batman Ninja, among others. The OG mode also receives significant attention.

The latest hotfix for Fortnite's OG mode is a small but impactful update for veteran players. The return of the Launch Pad, a Chapter 1, Season 1 favorite, allows for dynamic traversal, offering strategic advantages in combat and escapes.

Fortnite Revives Classic Weapons and Items

  • Launch Pad
  • Hunting Rifle
  • Cluster Clinger

The Launch Pad isn't the only comeback kid; the Hunting Rifle (Chapter 3) provides long-range combat options, especially welcome given the absence of sniper rifles in Chapter 6, Season 1. The Chapter 5 Cluster Clinger also makes a return, appearing in both Battle Royale and Zero Build modes.

The resurgence of OG Fortnite has been phenomenal, attracting 1.1 million players within the first two hours of its launch. An accompanying OG Item Shop offers classic skins and items for purchase, although the reintroduction of ultra-rare skins like the Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper has sparked mixed reactions among the player base.
