Publisher Dotemu, in collaboration with studios Guard Crush Games and Supamonks, has announced the upcoming release of Absolum—a thrilling fantasy beat 'em up infused with roguelite elements. Set in the shattered world of Talamh, which has been ravaged by a magical cataclysm, the game unfolds a gripping narrative where magic is feared and suppressed. The tyrannical King-Sun Azra, leveraging the dread of his subjects, enslaves mages through his oppressive Crimson Order. However, hope emerges as a band of valiant heroes, including the necromancer Galandra, the rebel gnome Karl, the mage Brom, and the enigmatic Sidr, rise to challenge his rule.
Gamers can anticipate an adrenaline-pumping experience featuring upgradable abilities, potent combos, and enchanting spells. Absolum caters to both solo adventurers and those who prefer teamwork, with cooperative modes allowing players to merge their attacks and synchronize devastating strikes.
Enhancing the immersive atmosphere, the game's soundtrack is being composed by a trio of renowned artists: Gareth Coker, celebrated for his work on Ori and Halo Infinite; Yuka Kitamura, known for her contributions to Dark Souls and Elden Ring; and Mick Gordon, the maestro behind the scores of DOOM Eternal and Atomic Heart.
Absolum is slated for a 2025 release, and will be available on PS4/5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, promising to deliver an unforgettable gaming experience to fans of the genre.
