Giant LEGO Jurassic Park T-Rex Skeleton Unveiled
Mar 13,2025Author: Lucy
LEGO has unveiled its most ambitious Jurassic World set yet: a colossal T-rex skeleton spanning over three feet in length! This impressive build includes minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, iconic characters from the original Jurassic Park film, where this very skeleton makes a memorable appearance in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, this detailed replica will be available on the LEGO Store starting March 12th for LEGO Insiders (free sign-up available here) and March 15th for everyone else.

LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex
Price: $249.99 at the LEGO Store
Release Date: March 15 (March 12 for Insiders)
Pieces: 3,145
Ages: 18+
Dimensions: L: 105cm (41.3in) / H: 33cm (12.9in)
This 3,145-piece set is designed for adult builders (18+), making it a stunning display piece rather than a playset. The intricate build may incorporate advanced techniques, potentially challenging for younger builders.
It's difficult to fully grasp the scale of this set from images alone. While the Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler minifigures provide context, the finished skeleton truly measures over three feet long. The skull is remarkably similar to the LEGO T-rex skull currently available (my son built this one, and it's fantastic!), but the complete skeleton elevates the overall impact dramatically.

Featuring articulated joints, the dinosaur skeleton can be posed in numerous dynamic positions. The head moves, the jaw opens, and the arms and tail are fully posable. Like many movie-themed LEGO sets, it includes delightful hidden Easter eggs to discover during construction. A display stand and an informational plaque detailing the T-rex's diet, habitat, and other facts are also included.

While the LEGO Jurassic World collection may not yet rival the scale of LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Harry Potter, it's rapidly expanding. This impressive T-rex skeleton is a fantastic example of the high-quality adult-oriented sets we hope to see more of in the future.
