Are you eagerly awaiting the release of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6? Well, you're in good company. Ned Luke, the voice behind Michael De Santa in GTA 5, has some exciting predictions and reassurances for fans. Dive in to discover what to expect from GTA 6 and its development.
Rockstar Games To Do Something Unexpected For GTA 6
GTA 5 Actor Expects GTA 6 to Make $1.3 Billion On Its First Day

Ned Luke, the iconic voice of Michael De Santa from GTA 5, shared his high expectations for GTA 6 during an interview with the YouTube channel Fall Damage. He confidently predicts that GTA 6 will rake in a staggering $1.3 billion on its first day of sales. Luke praised the mysterious nature of Rockstar Games' projects, hinting at the unexpected brilliance that awaits players.
"Be patient," Luke advised fans. "It's going to be worth the wait. From what I've seen, it's going to be amazing." He drew comparisons to GTA 5, which earned over $800 million in its first 24 hours back in 2013, suggesting that GTA 6's opening day figures will surpass its predecessor's by a significant margin.
Research from DFC Intelligence supports Luke's optimism, projecting that GTA 6 will sell over 40 million copies and generate $3.2 billion within its first year, with $1 billion of that coming from pre-orders alone.
The Future Of GTA 5 Characters In GTA 6

Luke also touched on the future of GTA 5's beloved characters in the upcoming title. While Michael has been absent from GTA Online since its launch, Trevor and Franklin have made appearances. Luke hinted at the possibility of Michael returning in a speculated final DLC for GTA Online or even making a cameo in GTA 6.
Steven Ogg, who portrayed Trevor in GTA 5, shared his vision for his character's fate in GTA 6 with ScreenRant in January 2025. He suggested a dramatic "passing the torch" moment where Trevor might be killed off early in the game.
"Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not. You know Rockstar is not going to tell you anything. And if we say anything, you know they will not be very happy," Luke remarked. Despite the actors' enthusiasm, no official word has been given on whether these characters will appear in GTA 6.
GTA 6 May Be At Its Testing Phase

According to former Rockstar Games Animator Mike York, GTA 6 might be in its in-house testing phase. In a now-deleted video interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz, as reported by GamesRadar, York described GTA 6 as a game unlike any other open-world title due to its unpredictability.
"There are a lot of things that can happen that you don't really think about until some random kid in his basement tries it, you know? You really don't," York explained. He believes that the game is currently being tested internally, with developers still adding final touches and extras.
York suggested that GTA 6 is at least playable at this stage, and many testers may have already experienced it. Since Rockstar Games unveiled the first trailer for GTA 6 in December 2023, the company has remained tight-lipped about further details. Reports from Take-Two Interactive's 2024 Financial Report indicate a potential Fall 2025 release, but no official date has been confirmed yet.
