In a recent Twitter (X) post, Supergiant Games celebrated Hades 2's one-year milestone in early access, which began on May 6, 2024. The developer expressed gratitude towards the community for their support and feedback, stating, "It's been incredibly exciting and eye-opening as we've worked to realize the potential so many of you see in our game. Thank you for all your feedback and patience as we get closer to the finish line!"

The original Hades followed a similar early access journey, taking 22 months to reach its full release. However, Supergiant Games aims to bring Hades 2 to its full release more swiftly, starting with a time-exclusive launch on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Launching First on the Nintendo Switch 2

During Nintendo’s Creator’s Voice video series, Supergiant Games announced that Hades 2 will debut on the Nintendo Switch 2. With the Switch 2 set to launch on June 5, fans can anticipate Hades 2's release around that time.

As the eagerly awaited sequel to the beloved rogue-like game, Hades 2 marks Supergiant Games' first venture into creating a sequel. The developers have shared that approaching a sequel involves "a great deal of fear and respect."
