Horror Hits: PlayStation Plus Unveils Top 22

This guide explores PlayStation Plus, Sony's revamped subscription service offering three tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium. Essential is required for online multiplayer access and includes monthly free games. However, for a wider selection, including horror games, Extra and Premium are necessary.

Extra offers hundreds of PS5 and PS4 titles, regularly updated with new additions. Premium expands this library further with classic PS3, PS2, PS1, and PSP games. Sony’s service boasts diverse genres, with a notable selection of horror games.

Updated January 5, 2025: The December 2024 PS Plus Extra and Premium additions lacked horror titles. Note that Resident Evil 2 will be removed on January 21, 2025, though Resident Evil 3 remains. Given the shorter campaign lengths, completing Resident Evil 2 before its removal is feasible.

A new section highlighting alternative PS Plus games appealing to horror fans has been added.
