Iconic Bethesda Voice Actor of Skyrim, Fallout 3, and More Shares Heartfelt Message Amid Recovery

Bethesda's acclaimed voice actor, Wes Johnson, known for his roles in Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and numerous other titles, has shared a moving message following a near-fatal incident. Discovered "barely alive" in his hotel room last week, Johnson's recovery journey has been aided by an outpouring of support.

A video posted on a GoFundMe page, which has already raised an impressive $174,653 for his medical expenses and outstanding bills, reveals Johnson was in a coma. He expressed profound gratitude for the overwhelming support: "I found out there's a lot of love in this world that I didn't know was out there, and I'm grateful to each and every one of you."

Johnson, also a Washington Capitals announcer, was in Atlanta for a National Alzheimer's Foundation benefit event when the incident occurred. His absence raised concerns, leading his wife, Kim Johnson, to contact the hotel. Security personnel and EMTs found him with a barely detectable pulse.

In his video, Johnson stated, "Rumors of my demise weren't exaggerated. It was very close. But I'm still here," crediting his wife's quick thinking and the actions of his son, who contacted security. He spent five days in a coma before learning of the GoFundMe campaign established by friends Bill Glasser and Shari Elliker, and his wife.

He extended heartfelt thanks to the National Alzheimer's Association for supporting his family, Ted Leonsis (chairman of the Washington Capitals' parent company) for a $25,000 donation, and Glasser and Elliker. He also expressed deep appreciation for Bethesda's public show of support, stating, "You say that I'm your friend. I am. Always will be. Love you guys." Finally, he thanked fans for their donations and well wishes, assuring them, "I love you all. I'm not going anywhere."

Johnson's extensive voice acting credits span film, television, and video games, with a significant focus on Bethesda titles. His recent role as Ron Hope in Starfield adds to a long list of memorable performances, including Prince Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in Oblivion, multiple Daedric Princes in Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, among many others. He concluded his message with, "It's going to be a while as I work my way back, but I'm coming back. I look forward to seeing and hearing you all then. Cheers."
