Exciting news for fans of both Mortal Kombat and Invincible: J.K. Simmons, the original voice of Omni-Man, is set to reprise his role in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 as part of the game's Official Kombat Pack DLC. This announcement has sparked enthusiasm among the gaming community, eager to see how the powerful character from the Amazon Prime Video series will integrate into the iconic fighting game.
As Mortal Kombat 1 rolls out its full roster, including base characters, Kameo Fighters, and Kombat Pack additions, fans have been curious about the voice cast. While the 3D models are inspired by their 2D counterparts, the official voice actors for the game have remained a mystery—until now. At San Diego Comic-Con 2023, during an interview with Skybound, Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon confirmed that J.K. Simmons will indeed lend his voice to Omni-Man in Mortal Kombat 1. Simmons, known for his compelling performance as Omni-Man in the Invincible series, is expected to bring the same intensity and depth to the game.
Omni-Man's inclusion in the game is part of the Official Kombat Pack DLC. While Ed Boon did not delve into specifics about Omni-Man's gameplay, he teased that fans can anticipate engaging gameplay videos and 'hype' videos leading up to the game's launch on September 19, 2023. This addition promises to enhance the gaming experience, blending the thrill of Mortal Kombat with the formidable presence of Omni-Man.
