John Wick 5 has been officially announced, with Lionsgate confirming that the 60-year-old Keanu Reeves will reprise his iconic role. The news broke during CinemaCon, where Adam Fogelson, chair of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, shared the exciting update. Development on John Wick: Chapter 5 is already underway, with key players from the franchise returning. Producers Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee from Thunder Road, franchise director and producer Chad Stahelski, and star and producer Keanu Reeves are all set to collaborate on the project. Although no specific release date has been provided, fans can look forward to more thrilling action in the John Wick universe.
Given the impressive performance of John Wick: Chapter 4, which grossed over $440 million worldwide, and the consistent success of the franchise, with each film surpassing the box office earnings of its predecessor, it's no surprise that another installment is in the works. However, the decision to continue the series might raise some eyebrows, especially considering the conclusive ending of John Wick: Chapter 4.
Warning! Spoilers for John Wick: Chapter 4 follow.
