Krysten Ritter Confirmed to Reprise Jessica Jones Role in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

May 21,2025 Author: Logan

Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+. This exciting news was confirmed during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York, as reported by Variety. The announcement puts an end to months of speculation and rumors about the potential return of the Netflix Defenders to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Ritter, alongside Daredevil and The Defenders co-star Charlie Cox, shared her enthusiasm for returning to the role. "It's so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," she stated. "I'm so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

The 25 Best MCU Heroes

View 26 ImagesRitter first brought the New York-based Marvel hero to life in Jessica Jones Season 1, which debuted on Netflix in 2015. The series enjoyed two additional seasons and a team-up in The Defenders. However, as Netflix's partnership with Marvel began to dissolve, so did the prospects of Ritter returning to the role.

The landscape changed in 2021 when Disney regained the rights to certain characters, including Jessica Jones. Following Charlie Cox's cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his starring role in Daredevil: Born Again, fans began to hope for the reintroduction of other Netflix heroes. With the Punisher playing a significant role in Season 1, it's fitting to see Ritter's return in Season 2.

Ritter's last appearance as Jessica Jones was in Season 3, which premiered in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at more to come for the character within the MCU. While a release date for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has not been announced, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that new episodes are expected in March 2026.
