LEGO Unveils Jango Fett's Starship and New Star Wars Sets Before May the Fourth

Apr 27,2025 Author: Ryan

LEGO has unveiled an exciting lineup of nine new Star Wars sets, all set to launch on May 1, 2025. These releases are part of Disney's comprehensive celebration of May the 4th, also known as Star Wars Day, which LEGO traditionally marks with the launch of a new Ultimate Collector Series Starship. In 2023, fans were treated to Luke's X-Wing Starfighter, followed by the TIE Interceptor in 2024.

This year, LEGO is introducing Jango Fett's Firespray Starship, famously known among Star Wars enthusiasts as Slave I (view it on the LEGO Store). The name was officially changed to Firespray Starship in 2021 at Disney's request, a decision LEGO has confirmed, likely due to the sensitivity around the term 'slave'. This change appears to be permanent, four years later.

The last significant iteration of this LEGO starship was released in 2019, celebrating its 20th anniversary with a 1007-piece set inspired by its appearance in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. The new 2025 version, boasting 2970 pieces, reflects the ship's design from Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones. This set is nearly three times larger than its predecessor, measuring 7.5 inches high, 17.5 inches long, and 15.5 inches wide.
