The much-anticipated official trailer for the live-action remake of *Lilo & Stitch* has finally dropped, offering fans an exciting glimpse into the world of this beloved Disney classic. The trailer showcases Maia Kealoha's portrayal of Lilo, bringing a fresh yet familiar energy to the character originally voiced by Daveigh Chase in the 2002 animated film. Kealoha's performance promises to capture the essence of Lilo, giving audiences a heartwarming look at her journey.
Alongside Kealoha, the trailer introduces us to Courtney B. Vance as the serious yet endearing Cobra Bubbles, and Billy Magnussen as the quirky Pleakley. A notable highlight is the brief appearance of Pleakley in his alien form, adding a touch of the original's whimsical charm. Additionally, the trailer teases an intriguing plot twist where Jumba, played by Zach Galifianakis, and Pleakley appear disguised as humans, blending seamlessly into Earth's environment.
The trailer also recreates several iconic scenes from the original movie, including Stitch's dramatic entrance as a falling star, his transformation to look more like a dog at the shelter, and the poignant moment when Lilo utters the famous line, "Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten." These scenes are lovingly reimagined, ensuring that the spirit of the original is preserved while introducing new elements to the story.
*Lilo & Stitch* is set to hit theaters on May 23, 2025, following closely on the heels of another live-action Disney classic, *Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs*, which premieres on March 21. This new adaptation promises to be a delightful addition to Disney's growing catalog of live-action remakes.
