Netflix has unveiled the opening trailer for the highly anticipated anime adaptation of *Devil May Cry*, shortly after announcing its premiere date. The trailer is set to the iconic track "Rollin'" by nu-metal legends Limp Bizkit, featuring dynamic scenes of young Dante, Lady, and White Rabbit, packed with nods to the beloved video game series.
Showrunner Adi Shankar has shared his vision for the series, which is set in the late 90s to early 2000s. He believes the soundtrack perfectly captures the spirit of that era. Alongside Limp Bizkit, the series will feature other iconic tracks from the time, as well as a revamped game soundtrack by the synthwave duo Power Glove.
Shankar also hinted at the future of the anime, suggesting that subsequent seasons will vary in visual style and soundtrack to reflect the diversity of the *Devil May Cry* games. This implies that the series is planned to extend beyond a single season.
While plot specifics remain under wraps, the first season is set to adapt the manga *Code 1: Dante* (based on *Devil May Cry 3*), where a young demon hunter investigates a child's disappearance, leading him to confront his past, his family, and the legacy of his demon father, Sparda.
The first season will comprise 8 episodes and is scheduled to premiere on April 3, 2025.
