Marvel Rivals Season 1 Mid-Season Update: No Rank Reset
Recent confusion surrounds a potential rank reset in the upcoming Marvel Rivals update. While many live-service games reset ranks at the start of each season, Marvel Rivals initially planned a mid-season reset for Season 1 on February 21, 2025. This was to coincide with the release of The Thing and Human Torch, two new heroes potentially altering the game's meta.
However, due to significant negative player feedback, NetEase Games reversed this decision. The developers announced that there will be no mid-season rank reset. Players will retain their existing ranks and scores. To earn new rewards (including a Gold rank costume and Crests of Honor), players simply need to complete 10 competitive matches and meet specific conditions by the end of the season.
This demonstrates NetEase's responsiveness to player concerns and commitment to a positive competitive experience. The decision provides high-ranking players with additional time to compete at the top level.
