Capcom's Monster Hunter Wilds Hits 10M Sales

Oct 28,2025 Author: Aaron

Monster Hunter Wilds continues its meteoric rise, surpassing a staggering 10 million units sold and setting a new first-month sales record for Capcom - a company milestone no previous title has achieved.

This triumph builds upon Wilds' earlier achievement as Capcom's fastest-selling game, having moved 8 million copies within its first three days alone. The franchise's latest installment has now outperformed even the groundbreaking Monster Hunter World in its initial sales surge.

Capcom's official statement attributes this unprecedented success to two major innovations: the series' first-ever crossplay functionality and simultaneous multi-platform launch (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC) - a significant upgrade from World's delayed PC release.

"Crossplay functionality allows broader player connectivity across platforms," Capcom noted, "while our synchronized global launch provided immediate access to all gaming communities simultaneously." The publisher also highlighted critical gameplay innovations like Focus Mode and seamless world traversal as key factors enhancing player immersion.

"These evolutionary features, combined with the franchise's signature hunting mechanics, created exceptional buzz that directly contributed to our historic sales performance exceeding 10 million units," the statement continued.

With Title Update 1 launching April 4 (featuring a beloved returning monster and the new Grand Hub social space) and Update 2 introducing Lagiacrus this summer, Wilds' content pipeline promises sustained engagement. IGN's comprehensive breakdown details all announcements from the recent showcase event.
