Fishing is surprisingly simple. Find any body of water – even shallow puddles – and stand still. A fishing prompt will appear above your character. Hold the designated button to cast your Pod:
Your Pod will wait for a bite. Don't reel in until the Pod is fully submerged with an audible "plop." Quickly press the reel-in button; otherwise, the fish escapes. You can cast repeatedly with no limitations. A helpful plug-in chip displays a fishing icon when you're near fishable water.
Most fish and junk items are valuable, providing a safe and efficient way to earn money, especially useful for early-game plug-in chip upgrades. Fishing in sewers might even yield the powerful Iron Pipe weapon, though this is chance-based.
