Among the most eagerly awaited releases from last year, Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage certainly stands out. The original Pirates Outlaws made a splash as a stylish, swashbuckling roguelike deckbuilder, and its sequel is set to make waves with a Q3 release this year. This eagerly anticipated "seaquel" takes you back to the vibrant world of New Elysia, inviting you on another thrilling journey across the ocean waves. Simply choose your character, class ability, and starting deck, and embark on your adventure!
In Pirates Outlaws 2, you have the freedom to select from multiple characters, each boasting seven class options, allowing for extensive customization of your deck. You can also recruit an animal companion to enhance your strategic options in battle. With enhanced turn-based combat and the introduction of a new card evolution tree, you'll have a robust arsenal at your disposal to conquer the high seas!
Run out the guns
Pirates Outlaws 2 promises a significantly expanded experience, allowing you to navigate freely across the map and explore countless permutations and combinations of cards and characters. For those on PC, an upcoming Steam demo will be your first chance to get your hands on Pirates Outlaws 2 and dive into the action.
My only concern arises from the animations featured in the reveal trailer, which appear somewhat static to me. While fully animating these intricate illustrations is a challenge, I'm hopeful that the final release will feature more dynamic visual effects when it launches on mobile later this year.
