PoE 2: Guide Unveiled for Sisters of Garukhan

Path of Exile 2's endgame presents a significant challenge. To ease the transition, developers have strategically placed hidden encounters within the main campaign. These encounters offer permanent stat boosts, extra passive skill points, and even weapon skill points. One such encounter, the Sisters of Garukhan, grants a valuable +10% Lightning Resistance buff—twice! However, its subtle nature makes it easy to miss. This guide will show you how to locate and activate this beneficial encounter.

Where To Find the Sisters of Garukhan

The Sisters of Garukhan are found within the Spires of Deshar map in both Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel. Interacting with their shrine awards the +10% Lightning Resistance buff. The shrine's icon is easily overlooked on the world map.

Due to PoE 2's randomly generated maps, the shrine's exact location within the Spires of Deshar varies. Thorough exploration is key. Upon discovering the shrine (pictured above), interact with it to receive the buff. Be prepared for a fight; activating the shrine brings the surrounding Chakram-wielding automatons to life. In fact, this interaction triggers all automatons on the map to become hostile.

If you reach a checkpoint before finding the shrine, you can fast travel back to it, avoiding a potentially difficult trek through the map.

Claiming Your +10% Lightning Resistance

The +10% Lightning Resistance is granted instantly upon interacting with the shrine. It's not a dropped item or a reward for defeating the automatons; it's an immediate effect.

The Sisters of Garukhan encounter appears in both Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel. Activating the shrine in both acts grants a total of +20% Lightning Resistance.

Troubleshooting: Why No Lightning Resistance Buff?

Many players find it confusing that even after activating the shrine, their resistance values may appear negative.

This is because PoE 2 applies a -10% debuff to all elemental resistances after each Act (Chaos Resistance remains unaffected). Therefore, completing the Sisters of Garukhan in Act 2 nets zero Lightning Resistance (the buff cancels the Act 1 debuff). In Act 2 Cruel, the net resistance will be -30% after activating the shrine (-40% from completing Act 2, plus +10% from the shrine).

To verify the buff's activation, remove all equipment in the endgame and check your resistances. A -40% elemental resistance total indicates that you have successfully completed both encounters.
