The Pokémon Trading Card Game (PTCGO) Space Time Smackdown expansion, released January 30th, features a Weavile ex card depicting a scene that has sparked outrage among players. Specifically, the 2-Star full art card shows a group of Weavile poised to attack an unsuspecting Swinub.

This depiction of potential predation has ignited a passionate response online. Reddit threads are flooded with comments expressing concern and even heartbreak for the Swinub. One post, garnering nearly 10,000 upvotes, simply reads: "NO ! SWINUB LOOK UP !! LOOK UP !!". Many commenters highlight the graphic nature of the scene, lamenting the portrayal of Pokémon harming each other.

However, some players offer a glimmer of hope, pointing to the Mamoswine full art card as a possible happy ending. This card shows Mamoswine protectively looking upwards, seemingly aware of the Weavile and safeguarding Swinub. This interpretation provides a counterpoint to the grim scene on the Weavile card, suggesting a protective intervention.

Space Time Smackdown, a Diamond and Pearl themed set, includes 207 cards (significantly fewer than Genetic Apex's 286), with a higher percentage (52 out of 207) of alternate art, Star, and Crown rarity cards compared to Genetic Apex.

The developer, Creatures Inc., has yet to address the controversy surrounding the card artwork, remaining silent on social media and in response to press inquiries. While a "Trade Feature Celebration Gift" was provided, including 500 Trade Tokens and 120 Trade Hourglasses, the company has not publicly acknowledged the player backlash.
