Get ready for the next Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour! This Tuesday, January 7th, 2025, from 6 PM to 7 PM local time, Voltorb and Hisuian Voltorb will take center stage. This double feature Spotlight Hour presents a fantastic opportunity to catch both Pokémon, and even their shiny variants.
Prepare for a Catching Spree:
Because this Spotlight Hour features two Pokémon, stock up on Poké Balls, Berries, and Incense. Maximize your chances of catching and evolving shiny versions. Also, ensure you have ample space in your Pokémon storage to avoid interruptions during the event.
Voltorb (#100, Kanto Region):
Voltorb, the Electric-type Pokémon, offers 3 Candies and 100 Stardust upon capture. It evolves into Electrode with 50 Candies. With a max CP of 1141, 109 Attack, and 111 Defense, it packs a punch. However, remember its weaknesses: Ground-type moves inflict 160% damage. Electric, Flying, and Steel-type moves deal reduced damage (63%). The optimal moveset is Spark and Discharge (5.81 DPS, 40.62 TDO), boosted in Rainy weather. A blue shiny variant exists.
Hisuian Voltorb (#100, Kanto Region):
Hisuian Voltorb, also Electric-type, shares Voltorb's stats (1141 CP, 111 Defense, 109 Attack) and evolution requirements. It also yields 3 Candies and 100 Stardust. Its type matchups differ slightly: Bug, Fire, Ice, and Poison-type moves deal 160% damage, while Grass, Steel, and Water-type moves inflict 63% damage. Other Electric-type moves deal 39% damage. The best moveset is Tackle and Thunderbolt (5.39 DPS, 37.60 TDO), enhanced in Partly Cloudy and Rainy weather. Its shiny form features a black body instead of orange.
Don't miss this exciting opportunity to add these powerful Pokémon (and their shiny counterparts) to your collection!
