Exciting news for Pokémon enthusiasts: The Pokémon Company has officially announced that the Pokémon Fossil Museum will be making its way to North America in May 2026. This unique exhibition, which made its initial debut in Japan, offers an intriguing comparison between fabricated Pokémon "fossils" and actual ancient lifeforms found in real-world fossils. The museum will open its doors at Chicago's Field Museum on May 22, 2026, marking its first international venture beyond Japan.
Visitors to the exhibit will have the opportunity to explore vibrant Pokémon models displayed alongside extinct lifeforms from the Field Museum's extensive collection. This includes scientific casts of iconic Field Museum dinosaurs such as SUE the T. rex and the Chicago Archaeopteryx, juxtaposed with Fossil Pokémon like Tyrantrum and Archeops. The museum invites attendees to "spot the differences and similarities" between these fascinating exhibits, promising an engaging experience for all Trainers.

For those unable to visit either Japan or Chicago, The Pokémon Company and the Toyohashi Museum of Natural History have collaborated to bring the Pokémon Fossil Museum experience directly to your home. Pokémon fans worldwide can now take a virtual tour of the exhibit, exploring the fascinating collection of real and Pokémon fossils, ranging from a tyrannosaurus to a Tyrantrum, all from the comfort of their own space.
In other Pokémon-related news, a recent incident in the UK has caught the attention of fans and authorities alike. A man was arrested after Greater Manchester Police discovered a cache of stolen Pokémon cards valued at £250,000 (approximately $332,500) during a raid on a home in Hyde, Tameside. In a light-hearted comment, a police spokesman quipped, "Gotta catch 'em all," reflecting the widespread cultural impact of the Pokémon franchise.
