Metaphor: ReFantazio Manga Chapter 1 Out Now!
Dive into the captivating world of Metaphor: ReFantazio as the first chapter of its official manga adaptation is now available! This free chapter, released on MANGA Plus, brings Will's story to life in stunning manga form, thanks to the collaboration between Atlus and Shueisha, with illustrations by the talented Yōichi Amano (known for Akaboshi: Ibun Suikoden and Stealth Symphony).
While faithful to the spirit of the game, the manga takes some creative liberties, significantly altering the initial storyline. Expect to see changes such as the omission of a starting area from the game, the introduction of entirely new events, and a restructuring of existing ones, including how Will meets his allies. Interestingly, the manga officially confirms the protagonist's name as Will, solidifying the game's default name choice.
The next chapter is scheduled for release on February 19th, launching simultaneously in Japan and internationally.
Metaphor: ReFantazio: A Critical and Commercial Triumph
From Atlus and Studio Zero (led by Katsura Hashino, the visionary behind the Persona series), Metaphor: ReFantazio has quickly become a phenomenon. Follow Will and his fairy companion, Gallica, as they embark on a perilous quest to save the prince of the United Kingdom of Euchronia from a deadly curse. However, the assassination of the king throws the kingdom into chaos, leading to an unprecedented election to determine the next ruler. Will finds himself thrust into the heart of this upheaval, facing challenges far beyond his imagination.
The game's phenomenal success speaks for itself—selling over one million copies worldwide on its launch day, making it Atlus' fastest-selling title, surpassing even Persona 3: Reload. Critical acclaim followed, with Metaphor: ReFantazio receiving numerous awards at the 2024 Game Awards, including accolades for Best RPG, Best Art Direction, and Best Narrative.
Experience the magic for yourself! Metaphor: ReFantazio is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X|S.
