Romeo Release Delayed to Avoid Game Competition

It's been a while since Goichi "Suda51" Suda's Grasshopper Manufacture made headlines, but the iconic developer and his studio made a spectacular comeback during last night's State of Play with an explosive trailer for their upcoming ultra-violent sci-fi adventure Romeo Is a Dead Man.
The game's violence isn't just a feature - it's the centerpiece, according to GhM. Players will switch between diverse weapons to "unleash wave after wave of visceral carnage, experiencing unprecedented levels of brutality and hyper-stimulating action."
"Our team is currently firing on all cylinders to complete development. In earlier years, this would be when developers started bringing sleeping bags to the office, but we now prioritize proper rest," Suda51 explained.
"I'll always remember our wild all-nighters during Grasshopper's early days - we even got warning emails about excessive overtime. Final development phases feel like the night before a school festival, reminiscent of Beautiful Dreamer. What? You don't know that film? Maybe I'm showing my age... It's probably streaming somewhere."
Romeo Is a Dead Man promises ultra-violent sci-fi action crafted by Grasshopper Manufacture's creative minds. Players control FBI Space-Time agent Romeo Stargazer (an incredible name) hunting the galaxy's most dangerous fugitives. Targeted for 2026 release on PC (Steam/Microsoft), PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, the vague launch window stems from strategic timing.
"Isn't it obvious?" Suda51 teased, clearly referencing GTA 6. "That massive game just announced its date. Every publisher wisely avoids competing... Though imagine releasing same-day? Terrifying thought. Anyway, see you next time."
