Semine or Hashek: Best Outcome in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2's Necessary Evil Quest

Apr 27,2025 Author: Audrey

In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the main story quest "Necessary Evil" presents players with some of the game's most challenging moral decisions. One of the pivotal choices in this quest is whether to side with Semine or Hashek. Here’s a detailed walkthrough and guide to help you navigate these crucial decisions.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Necessary Evil Quest Walkthrough

After completing the "Back in the Saddle" quest, you'll initiate "Necessary Evil" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. Von Bergow assigns Hans and Henry the task of gathering intelligence from Nebakov Fortress and interrogating a prisoner. The information obtained during this interrogation will influence whether von Bergow targets Semine or Nebakov Fortress. This guide assumes you choose Semine, as it leads to the more complex moral dilemmas.

Prisoner Interrogation Answers

Prisoner Interrogation in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

During the prisoner interrogation, you'll need to pass Speech checks to extract information. You can either use intimidation or resort to torture instruments. Here are the Speech check options and their requirements:

  • “We’ll put in a good word for you.” (20 Impression)
  • “Istvan and I are old acquaintances.” (20 Impression)
  • “Otherwise, it’ll end badly for you.” (17 Intimidation)

After the interrogation, you'll uncover the bandit leader's identity and Semine's involvement. When reporting to von Bergow, you can either implicate Young Semine in aiding the bandits, leading to an attack on the town, or claim no one helped the bandits, resulting in an attack on Nebakov.

Should You Attack Semine or Nebakov?

Choosing to attack Semine involves accompanying the party to Semine, where you'll face additional moral challenges related to Hashek. Opting to attack Nebakov results in von Bergow handling the bandits there, concluding the "Necessary Evil" quest immediately.

Attacking Nebakov might be preferable if you wish to avoid the bloodshed at Semine, but it's ethically questionable to let Semine escape punishment given their role in the deaths of many innocents. Personally, I chose to attack Semine, feeling it was the right decision despite having formed connections with its residents earlier in the game.

If you decide to attack Semine, ensure you ride there with the party. Falling behind could lead to the slaughter of the entire town. Riding with them gives you a chance to intervene and help Semine.

Should You Side With Semine or Hashek?

Decision between Semine and Hashek in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Before departing for Semine, you can speak with Hashek, who clearly seeks revenge and prefers a violent approach. Upon arrival, you must decide whether to side with Semine or Hashek. To support Hashek, choose the dialogue option “Hashek is right.” To back Semine, select “Olda deserves a trial.”

I recommend siding with Semine. Although Semine's collaboration with the bandits was wrong, Hashek's desire for destruction would lead to more innocent deaths. If you're playing Henry as a morally upright character, it aligns with his values to oppose Hashek's brutality.

After confronting Hashek, advise the Semines to burn their estate and flee to advance the quest and proceed to your next objective of reporting to von Bergow.

Choosing Hashek results in the death of everyone in town. You can also encounter Olda in the tower and decide his fate—whether to spare him or hand him over to Hashek.

Should You Tell von Bergow or Let Hans Talk?

The quest's final phase involves Henry and Hans reporting back to von Bergow. You have the option to let Hans do the talking or have Henry reveal the events at Semine.

I suggest staying silent and allowing Hans to speak. Hans's diplomatic skills will keep both men in von Bergow's favor, leading to von Bergow planning the next move against Nebakov.

This covers all you need to know about deciding between Semine and Hashek in the "Necessary Evil" quest in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. For further tips and insights on the game, including romance options and where to find Goatskin, be sure to check out The Escapist.
