Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy clarified the timeline position during a Deadline interview: "Shawn's standalone story takes place approximately five to six years after Episode IX," she said in February. Kennedy confirmed the film's release will follow 2026's The Mandalorian and Grogu feature. "We're currently focused on the Mandalorian movie before moving to Shawn's production," she explained. Another intriguing detail? Reports indicate Ryan Gosling may take on a leading role.
