The Sims franchise is in the midst of celebrating its 25th anniversary with great enthusiasm, and while Electronic Arts has unveiled a comprehensive roadmap for the festivities, it appears there might be more surprises in store for fans.
Today, The Sims released a teaser filled with nods to the first two games in the series. This has sparked widespread speculation among the community that these beloved classics could make a comeback. Although there's no official word yet, insiders at Kotaku hint that EA and Maxis Games could unveil digital PC versions of The Sims 1 and 2, complete with all the original expansion packs, by the end of the week.
Should these rumors hold true, the burning question is whether we'll also see a console release, and if so, when. Given the lucrative potential of tapping into players' nostalgia, it seems improbable that EA would miss this opportunity.
Originally released many years ago, The Sims 1 and 2 are now hard to come by through legal means. A revival of these titles would undoubtedly thrill countless fans of the franchise.
