Heads up: Music streaming giant Spotify experienced a widespread outage this morning. According to Downdetector, reports of the issue started flooding in around 6 a.m. PT and continued throughout the morning. Our team at IGN also faced difficulties accessing the service, and even when we managed to open the app, it failed to play any music.
Spotify has officially acknowledged the problem and is actively working on a solution. They've reassured users via their official Spotify Status Twitter account that they are addressing the issue as swiftly as possible. Additionally, Spotify debunked rumors suggesting the outage was due to a security breach, confirming that no hack was involved.
We are aware of the outage and working to resolve it as soon as possible. The reports of this being a security hack are false.
