GSC Gameworld, the developers behind S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, have unveiled their latest roadmap, promising regular updates every three months. The announcement was made on the game's official Twitter (X) account on April 14, detailing the roadmap for Q2 2025.
The roadmap will be broken down into quarterly segments, with detailed patch notes released to confirm the implementation of planned updates in the game.
Building on the momentum from the Q1 updates, which addressed significant issues and introduced multiple hotfixes, GSC Gameworld is set to continue enhancing the game based on player feedback. Here’s what fans can look forward to in the upcoming updates:
GSC Gameworld has outlined a series of updates, focusing on two major areas: the Beta Mod SDK Kit and further enhancements to the A-Life system. A closed beta with mod makers will test the ModKit before its official release, with plans to integrate Mod.io and Steam Workshop.
The A-Life system will see continuous improvements, enhancing the game's NPC AI and simulation. Following a substantial 110 GB update for the Christmas patch last year, the developers are set to introduce "persistent A-Life improvements" and "smarter human combat; better cover/flanking use, limited grenades."
Additionally, updates are planned for the mutants, which will now interact more dynamically by eating corpses and responding to threats. Other enhancements include the addition of mutant loot, the ability to skip shader compilation, an increase in the player stash window, support for wide screen aspect ratios, the introduction of two new weapons, and further efforts in stabilization and optimization.
