Star Wars Outlaws Pays Tribute to Hondo Ohnaka

Star Wars Outlaws' first story expansion has arrived with the A Pirate's Fortune DLC hitting PlayStation, Xbox and PC today - and it's all thanks to that lovable rogue Hondo Ohnaka.

Drew Rechner, Creative Director at Ubisoft's Massive Entertainment, reveals the DLC was inspired by their team's collective affection for Hondo, the Weequay pirate previously seen in Darth Maul comics and Clone Wars.

"We always knew we had to include Hondo because there were so many team members passionate about him. That scoundrel dynamic between Kay and this pirate legend just made perfect sense," Rechner explained to IGN.

"Watching Kay develop leadership skills under Hondo's questionable mentorship - if you can even call it that - creates some fascinating dynamics," Rechner added.

The expansion introduces fresh content including the Rokana Raiders gang, the Miyuki Trade League offering ship upgrades, and a new Shock blaster ability.

While confirming a Nintendo Switch 2 launch on September 4, Rechner remained tight-lipped about potential platform-specific features, teasing: "We'll share more details about specific features when the time comes."

Potential Switch 2 capabilities like mouse-style controller use and GameChat functionality could offer exciting possibilities for the game's portable version.
