If you’re among the many who have ventured into a cinema recently to watch A Minecraft Movie, you’ll fondly recall Jack Black’s brief yet memorable song celebrating the iconic "lava chicken" moment, which occurs roughly halfway through the film.

In the movie, Black, who portrays Steve, performs a catchy tune called "Lava Chicken" as Jason Momoa and other characters witness a chicken being cooked by falling lava. Despite its brevity at just 34 seconds, the song has captured the internet's attention, going viral across social media platforms.

Remarkably, "Lava Chicken" has debuted at No. 21 on the UK’s official chart, setting a record as the shortest song ever to chart. According to the UK’s digital entertainment and retail association, ERA, "Streaming + virality are reshaping hits," highlighting the new dynamics driving chart success.

PlayJack Black is no stranger to viral video game songs. His performance of "Peaches," a 95-second romantic ode to Princess Peach from *The Super Mario Bros. Movie*, which he both sang and co-wrote, also made waves by landing on the Billboard Hot 100. This marked the first time a song from Black's solo career reached this prestigious list. Previously, he debuted at No. 78 with the 2006 song "The Pick of Destiny" as part of Tenacious D.

Other notably short songs to chart include the 2007 Simpsons Movie song "Spider Pig" (64 seconds) and Liam Lynch’s 2002 punk hit "United States of Whatever" (86 seconds).

"Lava Chicken" isn’t the only viral sensation from A Minecraft Movie. Clips of enthusiastic cinemagoers have spread like wildfire across platforms like TikTok, with some fans even bringing live chickens to screenings.
