Stranger Things' Sadie Sink Insists Jean Grey X-Men Reports Are 'News to Me,' but Admits 'It's an Awesome Rumor'

Earlier this month, reports surfaced suggesting Sadie Sink, known for her role as Max Mayfield in Stranger Things, is set to join Tom Holland in Spider-Man 4. Deadline reported that Sink, whose film debut was in the 2016 biographical sports drama Chuck, would appear in the upcoming MCU film, slated to begin filming later this year and release on July 31, 2026.

While Marvel and Sony remained tight-lipped when contacted by Deadline, the publication speculated Sink might portray either Jean Grey from the X-Men or another popular redheaded Spider-Man character. IGN subsequently explored various Marvel characters Sink could plausibly play in Spider-Man 4 and beyond within the MCU.

Who Do You Think Sadie Sink Will Play in Spider-Man 4? ------------------------------------------------------

AnswerSee ResultsIn a recent interview with Josh Horowitz, Sink remained elusive regarding the Jean Grey speculation, simply calling the rumor "awesome." She confirmed she hadn't spoken to Kevin Feige or any Marvel representatives about the role, stating, "I have nothing to say about this," while acknowledging Jean Grey as "a great character." However, she expressed excitement about the potential of committing to a long-term MCU role. The interview concluded with Sink clearly preferring to keep her involvement under wraps.

Late last year, Kevin Feige hinted at the introduction of X-Men characters in upcoming MCU films, mentioning fans would see "some X-Men players that you might recognize" in the next few installments. He further emphasized the X-Men's significant role in the MCU's future, particularly following Secret Wars.

The potential return of Deadpool, Wolverine, and even Gambit adds another layer of intrigue. Feige's statements further solidify the X-Men's prominence in the MCU's future, particularly after Secret Wars. Storm's appearance in What If...? Season 3 marked a first step in this integration. With three untitled Marvel projects scheduled for 2028, speculation mounts that at least one will be X-Men-centric.
