World of Tanks Blitz pulls off a massive marketing feat: a cross-country tank road trip!
Wargaming is making waves with a unique promotional stunt: a decommissioned, graffiti-covered tank touring the United States to celebrate their recent collaboration with Deadmau5. The tank, which appeared at The Game Awards in Los Angeles, is fully street-legal, ensuring no unauthorized tank maneuvers. Fans who spotted and photographed the tank during its journey have a chance to win exclusive merchandise.
The Deadmau5 and World of Tanks Blitz collaboration is now live, offering players the chance to acquire the exclusive Mau5tank, a visually stunning vehicle equipped with lights, speakers, and music. The event also includes themed quests, camos, and cosmetic items.
The playful nature of this marketing campaign is undeniably amusing, even if it might irk some serious military simulation enthusiasts. It's a lighthearted and harmless approach, and while not entirely original (breweries and others have done similar promotions), it's a fun spectacle, especially for those who appreciate a touch of heavy metal flair in their daily lives.
