Tarot Cards offer powerful effects but carry significant risks. For safety, use them in a secure location, like near a hiding spot or the entrance, allowing for a quick escape if you draw a dangerous card like Death.

Each card's effect is immediate. However, The Fool card (similar to a Joker) produces no effect. You can draw up to 10 cards without sanity loss, and duplicates have the same effect.

Ten unique cards exist:

Tarot CardEffectDraw Chance
The TowerDoubles ghost activity for 20 seconds20%
The Wheel of FortuneGains 25% sanity (green burn); loses 25% sanity (red burn)20%
The HermitConfines the ghost to its favorite room for 1 minute (doesn't affect hunts or events)10%

What are Cursed Objects (Possessions) in Phasmophobia?

Cursed Possessions are high-risk items that spawn randomly in Phasmophobia, offering powerful effects but at the cost of increased danger to your character. They provide shortcuts to manipulate the ghost, unlike standard equipment which focuses on evidence gathering. The risk/reward balance varies between objects. Only one spawns per contract (unless modified in Custom settings), always in a fixed location. Seven Cursed Objects exist: Haunted Mirror, Voodoo Doll, Music Box, Tarot Cards, Ouija Board, Monkey Paw, and Summoning Circle.
