Unveiled at the Xbox showcase during Tokyo Game Show 2024, Threads of Time is currently in development for Xbox Series X/S and Steam. While a release date remains unconfirmed, PS5 and Nintendo Switch versions are also yet to be announced.

Already generating buzz, Threads of Time is poised to compete with acclaimed titles like Sea of Stars, offering a spiritual successor experience to Square Enix's iconic Chrono series. This debut title from Riyo Games promises a retro-style adventure brimming with nostalgic appeal.

"At Riyo Games, we aim to create retro-inspired RPGs that evoke cherished childhood memories," the studio stated in its press release. "Our journey began with a childhood pact—two friends, huddled around a CRT TV, vowed to one day craft fantastical, narrative-rich adventures together."

Boasting stunning 2.5D pixel art, Threads of Time features a diverse cast of characters from various eras. Players will journey through centuries, from the age of dinosaurs to a futuristic world of robots, uncovering a sinister plot that threatens the very fabric of time. Complementing the pixel art are high-quality anime cutscenes, enhancing the game's intricate narrative.
