Leafeon and Glaceon, the Generation IV Eeveelutions, are the first to receive EX forms in Pokémon TCG Pocket. While both are powerful, let's delve into the best strategies for utilizing Leafeon EX.
Leafeon EX's power doesn't lie in its Solar Beam attack (70 damage for 3 Grass Energy), but in its Forest Breath ability. This allows you to attach a Grass Energy to a Grass-type Pokémon while Leafeon EX is active. This synergy opens up some exciting deck-building possibilities.
This deck leverages Leafeon EX's ability to power up both itself and Celebi EX.
The strategy focuses on keeping Leafeon EX active using Giant's Cape, Erika's Hospitality, and Potions, while using Forest Breath to fuel both Leafeon EX and Celebi EX. Leafeon EX's 140 HP provides survivability, allowing you to retreat to a fully charged Celebi EX. Strategically choose when to power up Leafeon EX versus focusing solely on Celebi EX, potentially using Dawn to maximize Celebi EX's power. This refined version shows greater scaling potential than previous similar strategies using Exeggutor EX.
This deck offers a faster, aggressive approach, pairing Leafeon EX with Yanmega EX.
Yanmega EX's Air Slash (120 damage for 3 Colorless Energy, discarding an energy after attack) benefits from Leafeon EX's energy acceleration, enabling consecutive attacks. Erika's Hospitality keeps both 140 HP Pokémon alive, while 2x Giant's Cape pushes their HP above 150 for added resilience. This rush-down strategy aims to outpace common Grass-type decks featuring Exeggutor EX.
While other pairings, such as Venusaur EX, are possible, the Celebi EX and Yanmega EX decks offer the most effective strategies for utilizing Leafeon EX's unique abilities in Pokémon TCG Pocket.
Pokémon TCG Pocket is available now on mobile devices.
