Ubisoft's next big release, Assassin's Creed Shadows, arrives next Thursday, and its performance holds significant weight for the company's future. A newly released video on Ubisoft's official YouTube channel, intriguingly labeled a "TV commercial," showcases the game. While the video itself is undeniably impressive—smooth, cinematic, and visually stunning—its placement raises questions. The decision to release a traditional TV advertisement on YouTube, rather than a typical launch trailer, is unusual and somewhat perplexing. This unconventional approach doesn't necessarily inspire unwavering confidence in the game's marketing strategy, though it's possible this is simply a minor detail.
Regardless, the video effectively highlights the contrasting gameplay and fighting styles of the two protagonists. The depiction of Japan is breathtaking, but a one-minute cinematic can only offer a limited glimpse of the full game. Ultimately, only time will tell if Assassin's Creed Shadows lives up to expectations.
